It is our belief at Equality Alabama that any form of discrimination is wrong. No person should be denied basic human rights because of sexual orientation. Many people do not know that in Alabama it is legal for you to be fired from your job, denied housing, and denied a hotel room with your partner for being Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered.
To us, this is deplorable.
As long as any group in our state experiences discrimination, all of us do. Full equality of all citizens is our goal. We want equal rights, not special rights.
