For the purposes of the Equality Alabama, the state is divided into AREAS. An Area is a geographic region of the state, which has EA activities, or membership that this organization places under the direction of an Area Representative. The primary purpose of the division of the state into these Areas is to facilitate communication and networking within this organization.
Current Areas of the state are shown below, these Areas, along with their status of activity, are:
Quad Cities (Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Marion, Winston, Lawrence) - ACTIVE
Huntsville (Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Jackson and Marshall counties) - ACTIVE
Birmingham (Jefferson, Shelby. Blount, Cullman, St. Clair and Walker counties) - ACTIVE
Tuscaloosa (Tuscaloosa, Sumter, Marengo, Pickens, Bibb, Fayette, Lamar, Green, Hale and Perry counties) - ACTIVE
Gadsden/Anniston (Etowah, Dekalb, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Cherokee, Cleburne and Calhoun counties) - ACTIVE
Montgomery (Montgomery, Crenshaw, Butler, Wilcox, Chilton, Elmore, Autauga, Dallas and Lowndes counties) ACTIVE
Auburn/Opelika (Lee, Russell, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Coosa and Macon counties) - ACTIVE
